A 45-minute adventure in movement for pre-schoolers. Props, stories and music, plus the listening and coordination skills that help children settle into school.

Dance Explorers is where most of our youngest children begin. Each week has a theme and a story, and the movement grows out of it: twirls, hops, tiptoes, stretches and a good deal of imagination. Props and carefully chosen music hold everyone's attention from the first minute to the last.
Children take part without a grown-up, which sounds daunting and very rarely is. Our teachers are practised at settling little ones in, and parents usually notice a difference in confidence, listening and coordination within the first few weeks.
Inside the class
A theme each week gives the class its shape. Children travel, stretch, balance and spin their way through it without realising how much they are learning.
Ribbons, hoops and scarves turn simple movement into something children want to repeat. The music is chosen to be a pleasure for grown-ups too.
Taking turns, listening to instructions, waiting, sharing space and following a sequence. All of it transfers straight into a classroom.
Balance, rhythm and body awareness are the foundations of every style. Children who start here find their first ballet class feels familiar.

Where these classes run
Progression
Children usually move into Pre-Primary Ballet once they start Reception. Everything they practise in Dance Explorers, from following instructions to moving in time and using the whole room, is exactly what makes that first ballet class feel straightforward.
Comfortable clothes they can move in, with bare feet or socks. There is no uniform to buy before your child starts.
